Align Your Spine: Bending, Twisting and Resting

Do you have back pain?

Is it made better or worse with your yoga practice? Do you twist more easily to one side than the other? Do you notice one of your hips is tighter than the other? Does one of your hands always reach forward of the other in downward dog? Is one shoulder lifted higher than the other? If so, you may have an asymmetry or scoliosis curvature in your body. If you would like to know how to adapt postures for greater support of your body, then this is the workshop for you. The photos in this email show postures we will explore.

This workshop will cover:

a few Standing and Strengthening Postures
Restorative Postures
Backbends and Forward bends that support the spine
Gentle Twists – these are important for twisty types
Mild Inversions for rejuvenation
The use of props to realign the body
Setup and adjustments for individuals according to their body’s unique needs.
Suitable for all levels of yoga students. It will be a small group for deeper learning.
