Have you ever been to a yoga class without doing at least one cat and dog? These are considered beginner level poses and yet they are seldom ever accompanied by anything other than very basic instruction. So, we watch and follow, hoping for the best. Forget about what the pose is “supposed” to look like and explore what it actually is.
In this workshop we will look at: -Origins of each pose – where do these asanas actually come from, what is the basic intention of each asana? -Where in the body each pose originates -Taking a step back – finding different ways of approaching each asana with preparatory stretches, explorations, and modifications -Tips & tricks – using pranayama to tap into core strength & easy ways to test yourself: are you cheating by creating tension or using muscles.
