Wandering Yogi SOLD OUT

PRESS RELEASE FROM KIDSPORT:

Wandering Yogi Passport program sells out to due mega popularity, benefiting KidSport Victoria

Passports good for various fitness classes, all levels of people

Victoria, B.C.
– Due to popular success Base Lounge and Lululemon Athletica Victoria announced an early end to sales of the 2010 Wandering Yogi Passport. At $25, the Passport offers 10 classes to 10 local studios, a progam designed for people of all levels. That‘s just $2.50 per class and has shown to be a huge success. And the best part is all proceeds go to KidSport!

Organizer Alice Bracegirdle of Base Lounge and the participating studios agreed to “cap sales after only five weeks at 600 so as not to overwhelm the studios involved,” she said.

Those 10 are Base Lounge, Moksana, Yoga Shala, Body Dynamics, Capital City Boxing, Hemma, Yoga Together, Lynda Raino, Balance Victoria, and Moksha. The Wandering Yogi Passport is good until the end of February, sales were originally slated to end on Jan. 31.
“The Wandering Yogi Event has been more successful than we could have ever imagined,” said Bracegirdle, Base Lounge director of operations.  “We set our goal at selling 200 Wandering Yogi Passports over eight weeks. We could easily have sold 1000 I am sure. By my estimation, we will be donating approximayely $14,000 to KidSport and plan to make this an annual event.”

“The challenge for KidSport Greater Victoria is that each year  we can expect roughly 500 applications from kids who want to play sports and whose families do not have the financial resources,” said KidSport Victoria Co-Chair Steve Turner.

“At $200 per child, that‘s $100,000 we need to raise from the community of Greater Victoria. Being selected as a charity of choice by groups, such as the Wandering Yogis, is crucial to us raising the funds we need So All Kids Can Play.”
“We chose KidSport because its mission is directly in line with the mission of Wandering Yogi – we are both offering accessible, affordable opportunities for health and wellness within our community. Our goal now is to ensure that those people who bought a Wandering Yogi Passport return to  the studio of their choice once the passport has run out, and commit to a regular routine. Here’s hoping.”

A Wandering Yogis windup party, with prizes for passholders, is scheduled for March 27 at the Victoria Dance Connection.
