Yoga and Ball Rolling: Using Yogic Principles to Recover from Injuries and Manage Chronic Pain

Yoga and Ball Rolling:

Using Yogic Principles to Recover from Injuries and Manage Chronic Pain: January 26/13 2-5 pm $55.00 (inc tax and Ball to take home)

During this 3 hour workshop you will learn what is actually happening in your Nervous System during injury and chronic pain, and how, using Yogic Principles, you can begin to take back control of these internal and external processes, and begin to break the cycle of pain, and associated depression and anxiety. This workshop is based on scientific research as well as actual experiences of injured people. We will explore the yogic science, using yoga asana (posture), pranayama (breathing exercises), as well as myofascial release techniques using body therapy massage balls. We will also discuss common sports injuries and how to modify yoga practice during rehabilitation. This workshop is open to yoga students of all levels, as well as yoga teachers. The workshop is lecture based, with plenty of opportunity for questions and answers, followed by a gentle yoga class with ball rolling. The workshop fee includes handouts and a 5″ diameter anti burst plastic myofascial release ball for you to take home. Yoga is scientifically proven to decrease stress and pain levels, however when we struggle with injury it can be challenging to find out what is beneficial, and what is aggravating. Understanding what is going on in the body is incredibly empowering. There truly is a yoga for everyone, and this workshop is a great place to start!
