Yoga for Scoliosis on the West Shore

Learn how to work with your pattern to rebalance it rather than reinforce it.

The morning workshop 11am-1pm will cover:
•       Foundational standing postures
•       Spinal mobility and stability using core strength
•       Spine strengthening
•       Focused breathing
•       The use of props to realign the body.
•       Setup and adjustments for individuals according to their body’s unique needs.

Afternoon workshop 3-5pm will cover:
•       Backbends
•       Twists
•       Inversions
•       Restorative postures & releasing the psoas
•       The use of props to realign the body
•       Setup and adjustments for individuals according to their body’s unique needs.

These workshops are suitable for all levels. $35 each or $60 for both. Register directly with Ahimsa Yoga. 11-1pm and 3-5pm

Kathryn Kusyszyn came to yoga for relief from anxiety and pain. What she found changed her life. She completed her yoga teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Flow yoga in 2001 with Kathryn Beet and Marla Joy. Starting in 2008 Kathryn began studying yoga for scoliosis as taught by Elise Browning Miller and she deepens this training each year. Kathryn holds an Honors English Degree in Language and Literature, a Diploma in Holistic Nutrition, and a Karuna Reiki Master certification. A recent graduate of Thai Massage and Ayurvedic Massage programs, Kathryn blends Eastern approaches to health for a practical application to modern life.
She teaches with compassion and humor. Her intention as a yoga teacher is to provide a sanctuary for students as they explore their true selves.
